Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The short version: ToothShader runs entirely in your browser. No photos, measurements, or personal data are sent to any server. Everything stays on your device.
Data collection
We don't collect anything.
- No photos are uploaded or stored
- No measurements are saved or transmitted
- No user accounts or authentication
- No tracking cookies or analytics
- No third-party services
How the app works
ToothShader is a client-side only application:
- You upload a photo or capture from your camera
- The image stays in your browser's memory
- Color analysis happens locally using JavaScript
- Results are displayed instantly — nothing is sent anywhere
Camera access
When you use the Camera feature, the app requests access to your device's camera. This:
- Happens entirely in your browser
- Does not transmit video or photos to any server
- Is only used to capture a single still frame for analysis
- Stops immediately after you capture or exit camera mode
Photos you upload
When you choose a photo from your device:
- The file is read into your browser's memory only
- It is never uploaded to a remote server
- It is discarded when you refresh the page or close the tab
Browsing data
This website does not use:
- Cookies (except any essential cookies required by your hosting provider, if applicable)
- LocalStorage or SessionStorage for any personal data
- Any form of tracking or analytics
- Any third-party scripts or services
Server logs
If you host this on a static hosting service (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, etc.), that provider may log basic HTTP requests like:
- IP address
- Browser user agent
- Timestamp
- Requested URL
These logs are maintained by the hosting provider according to their own policies, not by this application. The application itself does not access or process these logs.

If this application ever adds features that involve data collection or transmission, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. Given the current design, no such changes are anticipated.
